New Case: Anthem Denies Coverage for Young Girl with Heart Condition
By Scott Glovsky on September 7th, 2017 in Insurance, Insurance and Healthcare Denials
On Monday August 28, 2017, we filed suit against Anthem Blue Cross of California DBA Anthem Blue Cross, Anthem, Inc., and Anthem UM Services, Inc. on behalf of a young girl living in San Joaquin County, California. The suit alleges that Anthem wrongfully denied coverage for the implantation of a medically necessary heart monitor that the young girl needed to diagnose a heart irregularity. Her cardiologist appealed to Anthem after the denial imploring that she could potentially have a fatal but treatable condition that cannot be diagnosed without the implantation surgery that she was seeking. Anthem rejected the appeal claiming that the procedure lacked medical necessity. We will fight for this young girl to make sure that Anthem provides the coverage and medical care that it is contractually and legally required to provide. If you have questions about this case or if you have your own problem with Anthem, Kaiser, Blue Shield, Health Net or any other insurers then please contact our firm and we will try to help any way that we can.
