Support Those Most Vulnerable in our Communities With ShoesThatFit.Org

Now more than ever we need to rally around and support families in our communities who are struggling. This unprecedented time is especially hurting the most financially vulnerable like those living paycheck to paycheck.
Many families are struggling to provide basic necessities and the need is growing. Shoes That Fit is a nonprofit that gives new athletic shoes to kids in need. Shoes are one of the most expensive needs for kids in low-income families. The organization’s mission is to “tackle one of the most visible signs of poverty in America by giving children in need new athletic shoes to attend school with dignity and joy, prepared to learn, play, and thrive.” It pairs “sponsoring groups” like businesses, colleges, and community service groups with children most in need in their communities. The process normally occurs via schools, but right now Shoes That Fit is providing on an emergency basis to shelters and foster agencies in Southern California. Donations are down and the staff is working to source shoes to meet the tremendous increase in demand.
