Meet the Team That Helps Lead Us Into Battle
We may live in a “David vs. Goliath” world, but I founded the firm in 1999 to hold major corporations accountable for putting their bottom line profits ahead of peoples’ lives. I am a skilled trial lawyer on a mission to make a real difference in my clients’ lives and change the system so that others will not needlessly suffer similar fates.
My practice emphasizes civil trial law, including insurance bad faith, catastrophic personal injury, and health-related cases. Our insurance cases include fighting a wide range of battles with health, life, disability, property and liability insurers. We get justice for our clients and hold the wrongdoers accountable.
You don’t pay us unless we win.
Because clients are frequently also fighting for their financial lives, we often work on a contingency basis, so clients don’t pay us anything until and unless we win your case through a verdict or settlement. If we don’t win, you don’t pay us anything.
What sets our firm apart?
- Experience Working on the Other Side
I formerly worked in large corporate law firms defending insurance companies in bad faith lawsuits. Because I understand how they think and operate, I can frequently stay one step ahead of their legal strategy. - Well Respected and Solid Reputation
Many of my cases are referred by other attorneys who are aware of my insurance expertise and reputation for out-working the defendants’ legion of corporate lawyers. That’s also why opposing attorneys take notice when I’m on the other side — they know they’re in for a fight. - Personal and Caring Client Attention
I take very few cases so I can personally devote a tremendous amount of time and care to each client. I get to know my clients, their families, and the real story behind their suffering. Unlike many law firms, I do not run an assembly line law firm that delegates cases to dozens of associates and focuses on quick settlements to pay associates’ salaries and cover massive office overhead. Instead, I rely a focused team of people I know I can count on, and I serve as the lead attorney on every case. - Passion, Commitment and Hard Work
I take pride in the passion and integrity I bring to every case, but please don’t take my word for it. Take a few minutes to view the testimonials from clients in some of my recent cases. - Successful Track Record
Even though I approach every case from a humanistic point of view, results speak louder than words in the field of law. I’m proud to say I’ve compiled a solid record of positive financial results for my clients, while providing the high level of personal care and support that provide me with invaluable emotional satisfaction.
Our Mission
Our mission is to help people who have been wronged. We promise to our clients that we care about you and your cause, we will listen to you, support you, be available for you, be responsive to you, empower you, and always put your needs first. We will be honest with you, treat you with dignity and respect, and fearlessly and boldly fight like hell for you.
We promise to fight for what is right, only take cases that we believe in, expose wrongdoing, and make our community better. We will do everything we can to always be the best prepared, win through exposing the truth, and provide the best lawyering possible. We will constantly grow, learn and improve to become the best giant slayers we can be.
If results matter, then hire us.
Our Team
Scott Glovsky
I founded The Law Offices of Scott Glovsky in Pasadena in 1999 and focus my practice in insurance bad faith, catastrophic personal injury & health-related litigation. I started the firm to help ordinary people suffering because of the negligent & bad acts of organizations and corporations. My clients have included health insurance policyholders denied needed care for brain injuries & organ transplants, seniors who have been physically & financially abused, and numerous accident victims harmed by faulty products & negligent drivers.
I was named one of Southern California’s Super-Lawyers every year since 2006. I am a faculty member at Gerry Spence’s Trial Lawyers College and I received my undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley and my J.D. from Cornell Law School.
Roberta Liao
As a law school graduate, I am aware of law firms where everyone jumps to the commands of the lead attorney. Personally, I much prefer the collaborative, approach of working with Scott. Our co-workers truly are our colleagues. And because everyone’s effort and input is valued, every member of the team feels an obligation to go the extra mile.
I graduated cum laude from the University of California, Los Angeles, and graduated from Loyola Law School. I help the firm in preparing for hearings and trials; investigating and fact-finding; identifying relevant legal articles, laws and judicial decisions for cases, and assisting in preparing legal documents.
I fully understand how much our clients need an extra level of patience and compassion during their time of hardship, and I work hard to provide that professional and emotional support.
Mariana Zalba
We firmly believe the absolute pursuit of justice for all people of all cultures is the foundation of America’s legal system. That’s why I am so proud to be the team leader for our Spanish-speaking clients. As our in-house trial consultant, I am also fully immersed in trial preparation for every case.
I graduated cum laude from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and graduated from the Santa Clara University School of Law. However, although I fully understand the complexities of the law, I gain my greatest satisfaction from balancing the highly technical legal elements of each case with the highly personal needs of our clients and their families.
Staci Glovsky
After a twenty-five year career in the health and wellness industry, I wanted to continue to have an immediate positive impact on peoples’ lives. Just as my brother, Scott, left the big money of corporate law behind to help those in real need, I found myself drawn away from corporate culture to the people-first philosophy that guides our entire team.
I like to work hard. That’s how I earned Phi Beta Kappa recognition when earning my BA Degree at UC Berkeley, and how I earned honors while completing my MBA at UCLA.
I like to surround myself with colleagues who understand the value of bringing passion and a strong work ethic to the office every single day. Although I am not directly involved in the legal aspects of our firm, I have the opportunity to reach out into the community in a marketing capacity to let victims of unscrupulous practices know there truly is a place where justice for all is more than just a catchy phrase.
Mike Vargas
As an Internet Technology Professional, I have often been told to “just make our call and online processes smooth and easy for our clients.” However, as a member of Scott’s team, it’s about precision. Reaching out to those potential clients who really need the kind of caring, all encompassing approach we’re known to provide every client, on every case.
When I graduated with honors in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at UC Berkeley, and then I earned my MBA at UCLA, I obviously had no idea my digital path would lead to The Law Offices of Scott Glovsky.
Now, I’m grateful for of all of the experience I’ve accumulated working with technology giants like Apple and Yahoo!, because that experience helps me appreciate the enhanced career satisfaction that comes from helping clients on a much more personal, one-to-one basis.
Stevie Matheny
I feel privileged to work as a paralegal in The Law Offices Of Scott Glovsky, because it is my first opportunity to work alongside people who share my genuine concern for others. I grew up in an environment where laws and principles were not upheld, and I knew early on that I eventually wanted to be part of the solution, not the problem.
I was drawn to Scott’s practice, because I thrive in situations where I’m presented with clear-cut rules and responsibilities. We are always fighting for justice against companies who were well aware of the rules and their responsibilities, but decided they could get away with turning their backs on their customers at the worst possible time.
Scott is very effective at going after such unscrupulous companies and hitting them where it hurts the most…in their wallets.
Rebecca Bennett
I’ve always wanted a personally fulfilling career that demands equal parts passion and compassion. Passion to throw myself totally into the task at hand, balanced with compassion for those my work touches. Before graduating magna cum laude from Soka University of America, I earned a grant to travel to Rwanda to study the effects of the 1994 genocide. This life altering experience gave me firsthand knowledge of the ways that society can fail, as well as the ways people can come together in strength to change the system
Here at The Law Offices of Scott Glovsky, we’re passionate about fighting to make sure America’s powerful insurance companies keep up their end of the insurer/insured agreement. Many of the people I speak with are extremely discouraged and feeling defeated by the system. Even though the legal process moves slowly, and it takes time to resolve the real issues, I know how important it is to each potential client to have someone listen compassionately to their story. I feel grateful to be a part of making people feel heard, seen, and advocated for. Being able to help and being able to see the results of our actions makes me feel like I’m doing meaningful work, and I love being able to see the ways in which I have helped others.
