Born in New Bedford and raised in Dartmouth, Massachusetts, David attended Dartmouth public schools where he excelled at track, placing in second place as a member of the Dartmouth High School two-mile relay team at the Class B Massachusetts state meet in his senior year of 1993. He also won several awards at the state Business Professionals of America competition, qualifying him for a trip to the National competition.

At Bridgewater State David was an academic peer tutor and the host of a popular radio show at the school’s radio station. He also served as a senator on the school’s Student Government Association for one term and was a member of the Leadership Institute. In addition, research he did as a crew member of an archaeological dig his junior year resulted in its inclusion in a publication for the New York Journal of Natural History in 2001.

Career-wise, David started working in warehouses in college, going full-time immediately following graduation from Bridgewater State in 1999. He worked his way up from the lowest entry-level position to eventually become a shift supervisor. He started taking classes to earn his MBA in 2016.
He enjoys running and spending time with his family.

Here is what David had to say when he received word he was awarded the scholarship:

“When I received the call, I was very excited to find out I was the recipient of the Law Office of Scott Glovsky Power of Resilience Scholarship. This scholarship money will go a long way in helping me attain my degree and it is greatly appreciated. I would like to thank everyone involved in the decision-making process and everyone at the firm in general. I will not let you down!

Mental illness is a very serious illness and a topic no one wants to address. In fact, I was a little weary of discussing my struggles myself, knowing that my essay would be read by others. However, if my story can help even just one person coping with similar problems, it is worth it. My heart shatters every time I hear of someone committing suicide knowing now that suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary
problem. My wish is that someday there won’t be such a stigma surrounding mental illness and
everyone suffering with it has access to help and the courage to seek it out. Once again, I would like to express my gratitude to the Law Office of Scott Glovsky for the scholarship.”
